First: some local punk band that probably nobody knows, we were still kids at that time and thus had to be accompanied by a friends mother, we found that deeply embarrassing back then, but kudos for that old lady to spend such an evening with us.
Best: Probably David Bowie in Cologne, must have been around 2005 or so
Last: a small gig of some lesser known punk band (Milenrama) in a local pub here, only several weeks ago.
I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it.

Personally, I'm currently stuck on Angry Johny and the Killbillies, this album hasn't left my CD player for a month now

My taste in music and the means to play it is pretty old fashioned.
What if I told you I still have a record player?
And several old classics on vinyl?
And that I am in fact just now listening to Iron Maiden's Killers LP on vinyl?
You youngsters will never understand, but every scratch and crackle is awesome and adds to the listening experience.

Confirming that Fields of the Nephilim are still amongst the best life bands ever.
Oh, and Sisters of Mercy are the worst, don't even bother with buying a ticket.

Quite true.
Thing is, the old Sisters songs are awesome and altogether classics by now.
Almost every goth worth his salt knows them up and down. Many bands did cover versions, most of them quite decent.
The irony is that nobody does a worser job than Sisters when performing these songs.
Take the eternal classic, "Alice", for example. this is a recent performance by them. And it's not the fault of the video, the sound is really that bad, and you cannot see the stage at all because of all the fog.
Now take any cover version by an other band, any one you want, and you'll realize why most people like Sisters of Mercy any more nowadays....
